Born in rural Texas & educated in Austin, grounded in public service, I’ve spent my life working to protect water, restore trust in democracy, & make government serve the common good. From environmental advocacy to local organizing, I believe in the quiet strength of community & the power of policy shaped by love.

My wife Jess & I are both Texas Master Naturalists, and we find joy in spending time together in nature — like the serene Stillhouse Hollow Nature Preserve, pictured right. That canyon is home to endangered species & rare ferns found nowhere else in Central Texas — a reminder of the fragile beauty we’re called to defend.
